Francky is known as a perfectionist.  He has never shown reluctance to test and challenge new techniques, create new flavours and textures.  Numerous awards and accolades later Francky still retains the traditionalist values in the kitchen to attain perfection, his kitchen culture affirms to his philosophy of ‘Pride, Passion and Perfection’.

Chef Francky had a very humble beginning as an apprentice at the age of fifteen and hasn’t looked back.  He has had an illustrative career spanning the globe and has worked in the world’s only ‘seven star’ hotel, the ‘Burj al-Arab’.  Some forty five medals later, which includes international awards and New Zealand’s ‘Chef  of the Year’ twice, he is here today in his fine dining oasis doing what he loves the most.


Kathryn RyanKathryn Ryan

Restaurant Operations Manager

After training locally as a chef at Eastern Institute of Technology in 2005, Kathryn had a variety of roles within the hospitality industry.  She is very versatile and has worked in various restaurants throughout New Zealand, including Stonyridge vineyard, Waiheke Island, Heritage Hotels Auckland and The Mission Estate Winery.

Kathryn oversees the day to day operations of the restaurant, supporting all departments and acts as a personal assistant to Francky Godinho.  Her passion for the industry remains and she continues her education with food, wine, and business courses.

Caji GodinhoCaji Godinho

Sous Chef

Caji harboured a love for cooking early in life and was formally introduced to professional cooking by his brother Francky.  He has worked around the globe and has held the position as a chef for the Royal family of Kuwait.  He has had further impressive experiences including working at Madinat Jumerah, the well known five star resort in Dubai.  Caji has been in New Zealand since 2006, and has worked for many of the top restaurants in both Hawkes Bay and Auckland.

Like his brother Francky, Caji has an impressive list of accolades which include Hawkes Bay ‘Chef of the Year’ in 2010 and 2012, and more than 20 medals to his name.
